Written by Amiya B
The fashion industry is inarguably incredibly fast-paced. With new ateliers and budding talent rising from the shadows each day, it can take a lot of work to keep up with the latest up and coming fashion brands. We have put together our top five rising fashion brands to keep an eye out for. Refreshing designs, authentic storytelling and pure fashion flair. These labels are elevating the fashion world stitch by stitch and we suggest keeping them on your radar.
1. Veronica de Piante
A prime example of impeccable style storytelling, Veronica de Piante has taken influences from her experiences worldwide and has translated them into fashion. The designer launched her first collection towards the end of 2022 and has since proved to be a formidable rising brand staking her claim in the fashion world. This modiste’s memoir in fabric has materialised into chic women’s apparel featuring pieces that you will want to add to your cart for the winter.
2. Fforme
Founded by Laura Vazquez and Nina Khosla with Paul Helbers as creative director, Fforme has redefined modular wardrobes in 2023. Capsule wardrobes have taken flight this year and Fforme is a fan favourite for fashion fanatics looking to curate the perfect collection of interchangeable luxury essentials. Despite only having entered the fashion industry a year ago, Fforme has quickly become a brand to watch (and shop).
3. The Garment
The Garment is proof that there is absolutely nothing monotonous about monochrome. Sophia Roe and Charlotte Eskildsen are the designer duo behind The Garment’s success. Known for their exceptionally tailored knitwear, the fashion house prides itself on its efforts towards sustainability. The brand’s apparel projects the conceptual marriage of vintage class and modern minimalism in fine luxury clothing.
4. Grace Ling
The future of fashion is here and her name is Grace Ling. This prominent rising fashion brand is slaying on and off the runway. Founded on 3D printing and CGI technology, Grace Ling is changing the game with sustainable fashion at the forefront of the brand. You might have heard of their iconic butt bag but the brand’s self-proclaimed ‘eccentric elegance’ does not end there. The entirety of the label’s collection is laced with chic modernism. We have a hunch that this futuristic brand is one for the history books.
5. Diotima
Luxury crochet was not on our bingo card for 2023 but alas, Diotima designed otherwise. An impressive blend of heritage and handicraft, Diotima’s designs are sure to make it to your wishlist. Rachel Scott, founder and creative director, has kept her Jamaican roots alive through her label. Pulling inspiration from Caribbean style and sourcing the crochet directly from artisanal communities hailing from Jamaica, Diotima’s authenticity is what makes it a rising fashion label destined for the big leagues.
